INTERNATIONAL DAY OF THE DISAPPEARED
International day of the disappeared was mark and celebrated in Bougainville on two areas, first in Arawa on the 28th of August. In Arawa many who shared their stories of their missing relatives, brothers and fathers were so sad and cry when talking.

The coconut flame was light by Chief Peter Garuai which recalled back the memories of the time during the height of the war we used coconut oil for light in the bush camps
In Buka it was celebrated on the 30th till morning of 31st August. They sing till day break the next day. The most moving and saddest part of the ceremony to me was when they carried the two coffins around the Bel Isi Park and back to the stage.
